Welcome to the Teton County Mosquito Abatement District's website. The Teton County Mosquito Abatement District (TCMAD) was established September 8, 2008 by Teton County, Idaho following passage of a ballot initiative on May 27, 2008. The District is administered by a Director and governed by a Board of Trustees. The District is here to provide relief from mosquitoes and the diseases they may carry to the residents of Teton County. Our strategy for mosquito control relies on an Integrated Mosquito Management approach where we focus on controlling mosquito larvae versus broad control of adult mosquitoes.
The primary function of the District is to protect the public's health and safety from mosquito-borne diseases. Additionally, the TCMAD will strive to reduce pest mosquito populations. The priority for the initial two years' operation is:
